The Italian Doctorates are developing a proiect of
Doctorate Schools at European level within the ministerial program of the
Internationalization of the Doctorate Schools.
In this frame various Italian, German, France, Russian,
Israeli Doctorate schools are organizing in 2003 a Doctorate School in
Astroparticle Physics. The school is organized in two weeks, the first
one in the third week of June at Conca Specchiulla (Otranto - south of
Italy) and a second one in the third week of July at Madonna di Campiglio
(Trento - north of Italy). The two schools cover the following topics:
Neutrino Physics and Astrophysics, Dark Matter and Dark Energy, UHE Cosmic
Rays. The program is shared between the two weeks to have two complementary
schools, but each school can be considered exhaustive in a more limited
area. Anyway the students are strongly suggested to attend both the school.
The Italian Doctorate participating to this organization
are: Bari, Ferrara, Genova, Lecce, Milano, Milano Bicocca, Padova,Torino;
the German are: Technical University of Munich, Max-Planck Institute; the
French are: College de France, Paris VII. In addition the Weizmann Institute
from Israel and the Institute of Nuclear Research from Russia are also
participating to this project. Other Institutes will probably join.
The School is addressed to Doctorate and PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, young researchers, research staff. The lectures will follow a didactic approach; to this purpose they are concentrated in five courses per week. A few specialized seminars will give up-to-date information.
The deadline for the applications is May 15th.
The registration fee will be 150 euro; it covers the social
events.
Support to travel and/or living expenses is available;
people interested have to address their requests to the secretariats of
the Schools, together with a short C.V. The local organizing Committees
will select the requests.
